Follow the steps below for a smooth first flight. The most important thing to remember is that the XDrone's sensors will attempt to calibrate themselves at the 3 second mark after turning the XDrone on (you turn it on by plugging in the battery). If the XDrone is not in a perfectly flat surface (the ground) 3 seconds after turning it on the sensors won't be able to calibrate correctly.
Before flying outdoors look for our article on how to use L1(power selector). You must set power to 100% when flying outdoors. Do not fly outdoors on windy days.
Steps
1 - Turn on the XDrone by plugging in the battery and placing it on a flat surface within 3 seconds.
2 -Turn On the remote control and back away at least 6 feet.
3 - Sync remote with XDrone by pushing the left joystick up and down several times until the propellers spin.
*IMPORTANT*At this point make sure all four rotors are spinning at equal speeds. If one or more are spinning slower than the others unplug the battery, turn off the remote control and go back to step 1 and try again.
4 - Once in sync, slowly push up on the left joystick for take-off.
5 - To hover push left joystick up until desired height achieved. Gently adjust left joystick (pushing up or down accordingly) to maintain altitude.
6 - To fly forward, push right joystick up. To fly backward, push right joystick down.
7 -To fly left, push right joystick to the left. To fly right, push right joy stick to the right.
8 -To turn counter clockwise push left joystick to the left. To turn clockwise push left joystick to the right.
Now you know the basics on flying your XDrone. Get as much practice as you can under your belt. Once you have mastered hovering, try flying in patterns. Start by flying your XDrone in a square pattern, then a circle, then a figure 8. After you become an expert at flying in these patterns look for our article on how to do flips and barrel rolls.
